On the contrary, our removal from natural environments shows unfortunate ties to mental illnesses and different mood disorders. In research, these tend to be more common in urban areas, and though many factors share the blame, reduced access to nature is a contributing cause (Read further here).

In addition to this, our removal from natural surroundings has further increased our disconnection from environmental issues, undoubtedly one of the most important problems in today's world. This is why having a nature inspired home / workplace can contribute -in a very natural and almost seamless way- to rebuild and restore bonds with natural environments on a daily basis, thus being beneficial for encouraging environmental care and actions.

We are drawn into the elements a modern city has to offer; the increased connectivity, the creativity, innovation, sights, new ideas, delicious food, and so on. However, this immersion in city life has resulted in oblivion and disconnection to nature, which has further transcended in our ways of living and behaving everyday- somewhat unaware of the impact of our daily activities on our natural environments. 

Our environment today is in a very vulnerable state. Despite the great amounts of information available about this-including solutions that we could all start applying instantly, there is yet a long way to go on encouraging reactions that correspond to the current environmental problems we face. 

While there are many factors that affect our behaviours towards environment interest, the fact of not having a closer link with something- in this case nature and forests, makes us most likely to not care or not have enough interest about it. This is the reason Forest Homes has engaged in the mission of bringing back that connection to nature in people's everyday life. By providing nature inspired home decor, we expect to see more people connecting, interacting and experiencing nature elements everyday- even when not being able to take a walk on a forest or a natural park. In this way we hope to increase environment appreciation and consciousness about the impact of our actions- with all the benefits this implies both for the wellbeing of our customers as individuals, and for the protection of our environment as a collective. 

Our main objective is to provide our customers nature inspired spaces, so they can experience better living and all the benefits that come from being connected to nature every day.  For us, it is essential that our products enable this daily connection to nature and forests in simple ways that don't require dramatic changes of behaviour so that we can help promote more care for today's environment as described in the previous section.

We cater principles of emotion-centered design, restorative spaces and urban sustainability to offer decor products that are not only inspired in forests but are positively stimulating for human senses, beautiful, functional and easy the use. We also sustain resource consciousness as a value for our products, preferring sustainable materials and eco-friendly manufacturing.

To provide a full sensory experience, we offer a wide range of decor products mostly built in eco-friendly processes and with sustainable materials. We thoroughly study our product composition and manufacturing. Bamboo, pine wood, oak wood, cork, are some of the main components of our range of products. To be able to offer a complete sensorial experience we also offer a small range of products that include plastics that are entirely recyclable, strong, stable and considered non-harmful for human health under normal conditions. However we continue to work closely with artisans to develop more forest inspired home decor products that are made entirely of sustainable materials and manufactured in eco friendly processes, so that one day we can proudly say we only offer sustainable materials in our catalog.

We support different designers specialised in natural decor from all over the world. We currently work with designers mostly in Europe that offer beautiful and unique items that sustain home wellbeing. What's more, we continuously look to support more designers that consistently improve the quality and sustainability of the wellbeing spaces we offer to our customers.
